working from NZ with swiss company - swiss citizen

Hello,

I have read many posts but what I am not clear on is the effect of having citizenship in Switzerland! Any feedback very welcome

I am employed by a swiss company but due to family matters have to return home to New Zealand. Ideally, I would like to remain employed by my company in Switzerland and work remotely, as I have done so for the past 18 months due to corona.

Some considerations:
- I am a citizen of both Switzerland and NZ
- I will no longer have an address in Switzerland
- Taxation treaty agreement between NZ and Switzerland, I understand I wont be double taxed

Is this at all possible to remain employed in Switzerland, living in NZ under the SAME contract that I am on now?
How will social security be affected? tax? health insurance?

Any information would be helpful!

Danke

Re: working from NZ with swiss company - swiss citizen

Yes you can, no problem.

You will probably still need an address, you could probably use your company address? Otherwise there are some virtual address services you could consider.

Swiss Health insurance is not mandatory anymore the moment you move your residence out of Switzerland.

You may still need to pay some of the minor social contributions (not 100% sure though), but surely not the AHV. Only in case New Zealand and Switzerland have no treaty you could get an approval for an exception and still be allowed to pay AHV.

NZ Taxes and social contributions will apply. Not sure on NZ, some countries don't accept residents permanently employed by a foreign company.
