Swiss visit visa for Indians (in the covid times)

Hey

I'm considering inviting my parents for a 3 month period to Switzerland to visit family here. Spoke to a consultant at the Swiss embassy New-Delhi and they informed me that visa's are being issues for Indians who are fully vaccinated with Covishield. Thankfully both my parents are vaccinated with that.

My parents have visited Switzerland several times in the past but from the UK where they were residents. But now they permanently reside in India and its going to be the first time they travel here from India.

Question I have are,

1. Which flight routes should they consider to fly to ZH ? i.e. via Dubai or via Paris/Amsterdam ? We know that Germany is not an option.
2. Are any covid test results required / asked at the airport ?
3. Which travel insurance should they consider to buy ?

Thanks in advance.

Go with KLM or Lufthansa. Emirates and others are restricted.

2. Are any covid test results required / asked at the airport ?
RTPCR Negative max 72 hours

3. Which travel insurance should they consider to buy ?
One recommended by Switzerland Embassy in India. Included in the Visa Application Form.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Would you know what is the exact restriction with Emirates?

ME carriers are being very erratic in terms of opening and closing flight routes from India. Thus take the safer option.

Re: Swiss visit visa for Indians (in the covid times)

Sorry one more question,

Does the invitation letter have to be an original or could it be a clear scanned copy ?

This is what it says on the checklist from the Swiss embassy

Invitation letter from the host in Switzerland :
o With full details of the inviter; full name, address, Email-ID and telephone number.
o The invitation letter has to be in original or a clear copy, dated and signed, mentioning names of all the invitees, the duration of stay, the relationship and the purpose of the invitation, along with a copy of the passport or identity card,
OCI and residential permit.

As per my past experience with embassies, a clear scanned copy usually suffices.
Would suggest to give that a shot.
