8-10 weeks processing time for a permit - how do i do stuff?

I arrived in Baselland with my family around 1 month ago, and since is my third time living in Switzerland, most practical things have been quite easy for me.

When I registered at the municipality the day I arrived I was told that the processing time would be around 2 weeks untill I would hear from the Migrationsamt here in BL. So i was a bit nervous this week when I still hadn't received any news, and I called up the migrationsamt. It turns out that they currently are seing processing times of 8-10 weeks or maybe more. What?!

I am a person who doesn't like to postpone things, and the fact that I still haven't received my permit makes life a lot more difficult. Some examples are; I can't get a credit card, I might not be able to get my license plate for my car, I can't get my drivers license changed (my company is very insisting even though it shouldn't change anything). I'm planning to go on a Business Trip in a couple of weeks, but with how covid changes everything all the time, how can I document that I even live here?

I know I can't magically make the migrationsamt make the process faster, but if you have any advice on the credit card, let me know

You can get a document from them to say your permit is in process and you can get a return visa from them for travel.
