No news received after KDE test

Hi all; at beginning of 2022 I have applied to Canton Zürich for Ordinary Naturalization, and I have been adviced tha I need to pass a KDE language test before starting the rest of the process.

I have done the KDE test at a language school in Zürich, where I live, on 10th December 2022. At the end of the exam (which I assumed was passed) I have been informed that for Ordinary Naturalization the school sends the result of the KDE to the Einbürgerungsamt, and they send a notfication to the applicant (within a couple of weeks).

However, after more than one month, I have received nothing from Zürich Gemaind. I have contacted the school asking clarifications, and they have just confirmed that the result of the test have already been sent to the Einbürgerungsamt in Zürich, without specifying the result.

I am a little puzzled, as I expected at least to receive from the school a confirmation that the I have passed the test! But for some reason they are not allowed to give such result directly...

Any experience? How long does it take to receive a confirmation from the Einbürgerungsamt, and what will be the next steps?

What about if I have NOT passed the test? In this case, I assume that I should have been adviced directly from the school... am I allowed to repeat the exam?

Thanks for clarifying.

Gianni

It has been Xmas and New Year. Why don't you call/email them and ask?

Hi Island Monkey, this is exactly what I've done, it's in my message: I have sent an email to the language school asking information, they have sent me a non-answer, just saying that the results of my KDE exam have been sent to the Enbürgerungsamt, nothing else.

The aim of my message is however not to get justifications of the delay, but to understand what are the average waiting time and what is the process. Again it's in my message:

Any experience? How long does it take to receive a confirmation from the Einbürgerungsamt, and what will be the next steps?

So, if someone can help me with this information, I would appreciate.

Thanks: Gianni

Re: No news received after KDE test

Ask directly the Einbürgerungsamt? Mmmhhh... I don't know, maybe it's not a good idea. I prefer not to push them and keep a low profile. I understand that they may have their times... what I DON'T understand, and it's what irritates me much more, is why the langiuage school has not communicated me the results, in parallel with sending them to the Naturalization Office. At the end of the exam they told that they do so for the Facilitated Naturalization, but not for the Ordinary Naturalizaion. I see no logic behind this!

I'm thinking that if they have sent the result to the official department, it could mean that I have passed the exam, otherwise they would have contacted me to say that I had to repeat the test... but I don't like to make assumptions and cheat with myself, I would prefer to have a clear information and have it now, not in who knows how many weeks or months!

Very frustrating and disappointing...
