EU L permit with 13 month contract

I have a 13 month contract and have been informed (by immigration themselves) that I will receive an L permit. I believe that I am entitled to a B permit under Swiss law. I may be mistaken but this is what has been implied on this forum and the Swiss immigration website. My question: is it worth challenging? At the moment the only thing I can see being an issue is the renewal cost (i.e. yearly instead of 5 yearly) - we will certainly be staying in Switzerland for longer than 1 year. Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: EU L permit with 13 month contract

I challenged through my HR dept and got a B when this happened. The immigration dept knows that ETH and others are purposely giving 13 month contracts so that people get B permits rather than L as according to law, so this is their way of fighting back. But you are not guaranteed to get a B if you challenge.
