I have a B Permit (spouse) and have been offered work

Hello all -

I have read the postings under permits in this category and have found many v. informative - thank you.

What I need to know is, with my B permit (Aufenthaltsbewilligung), how can go I about getting approval to work?

I have been offered several part-time/temp/consultant gigs and the people who want to hire me have asked if I am able to work?

My husband made a point when discussing his 'deal' with his company before coming to Switzerland that his wife would need to have the ability to work if she wanted and they said that with the B permit I would receive I'd be able to.

Now it looks as though it is not that easy ...

Is it just a matter of filling out some forms?

Please advise and thank you in advance for any/all help!

LONG-TERM RESIDENCE PERMIT. NOT SUBJECT TO QUOTA
  • Permit delivered for family dependents.
  • Does not include work permission -this must be applied for separately
would like to know where and how to apply separately

the company that wants to hire you has to apply for the permit. I suggest you go to your gemeinde or local kreisburo and ask them any questions you have.

Are you being hired by these companies or are you going to "freelance"? The answer to you question will differ based on how you intend to work.
