Notary for Permit documentation- Swiss or UK?

I have been given a list of documents that the company I am going to set up needs to provide. Does anyone know if this Notary person can be a UK Notary? All my documents will come from the UK like bank statements etc..surely it is a UK notary? Or is it?

1. Resume (CV) – in English or German language
2. Certificate of non-punishment (translated into English or German language and legalized by a Notary)
3. Certificate of Education (translated and legalized)
4. Certificate of private annual income, authenticated by tax authority (in English and legalized)
5. References from the current place of work
6. Business Plan of your company for the period of 3-5 years
7. List of your business partners in Europe and/or in Switzerland
(plus existing contracts with them – to be rebuilt in the name of your company)
8. Bank statements of your existing company for last 3 years (in English and legalized)
9. Certificate of good standing for your existing company from any European bank
10. Passport copies of all family members, who will relocate to Switzerland with you

Thanks

As far as the translated stuff is concerned I think you need to use canton approved translators. They normally have a list of approved translators.

Best would be to ask directly the people who want these documents.

I imagine that as the company you are setting up is in Switzerland, they will require this to be a Swiss Notariat (like: http://www.notariate.zh.ch/)

However, the people that requires these should be able to supply the answer (and whether they need translations)...

I guess that makes sense. Although I think it is okay for English as the language.

you might find your local friendly British Vice Consulate could offer notary services. Mind you, whether they'd be accepted by the relevant Swiss authorities for this purpose would be a question.

Re: Notary for Permit documentation- Swiss or UK?

7 grand!!!! He sent me an email to say that rate was for the application being made in Basel...to make it in Zug...it would be 8,000CHF....that is right people.

I think I would be better off paying a Swiss citizen to marry me than to pay that fee!!! Any takers:-)

Well I did phone around and contacted to other companies who said that "the company" can apply. Since I have gone to the Zug immigration site and found what I needed. I will give them a call direct to enquire about the supporting documentation for the application...but the application is 2 pages long!!! Just 2 PAGES!!! How can someone charge so much for 2 pages and the 1 st page asks on my details.

People perish for lack of Knowledge as the good book says...I say, People get ripped off for lack off Knowledge.

But it is good to have this forum to bounced thoughts around...and to realise that you can ask around.

Hi TheCappaccino,

I have no idea what your new enterprise is and I'm not asking about that, but I am questioning whether you need to go the lengths of forming a GmbH to start your business functioning.

There are other threads here about being self-employed and claiming expenses quite easily from your taxes. Can't you just start buying/selling consulting/whatever and keep a note of all expenses etc? If it takes off then go for an official company, but work as a 'sole trader' at first...

Re: Notary for Permit documentation- Swiss or UK?

AbFab,
That would be ideal. However, in order for me to get anything in Switzerland I need a permit. I can't do the business coming for 3 months here and there. I can't rent a flat. I can't get a mobile phone contract-only Pay as You Go.

As a Bahamas citizen(non EU), I think it is the best route to get a permit approved.

I have the faith to feel that the authorities will grant my permit based on my business. Also, I would be helping to generate Swiss employment.

I can be cheesy at times: It seems that crooks are the people who get things easy!!!
