| Hey Guys
I have a visa appointment next week to obtain my student visa and I am very worried and the reasons are :
I have a PhD admission from Geneva University. PhD at Geneva University does not have any course and it is only research.
They sent me the acceptance letter and I enroled myself 2 motnhs after that but I did not apply for a student visa. My acceptance letter is now more than 6 months old. Do you think that would cause a problem ? They also told me that it takes around 2 to three months to process the application do you think this would be the case or I can obtain it earlier?
Thanks | |

Firstly, belated congratulations on your admission and a warm welcome to the Forum!
As for your query, I presume the university knows pertinent details about your case, such as the reason for the abnormal delay of 6 months on your part, your nationality etc, so if they have said it takes around 2-3 months I would believe them. Generally it is not within the student's purview to expedite the process.

A more effective way of eliciting information is to visit the website of your department and make contact with your prospective colleagues. Tact and politeness can work wonders.
All the best for your PhD!
