I have a query regarding schengen visa. I am a UK work permit holder with a non EU passport . As my wife is a B permit holder of switzerland,I am planning to mpve ovr to Zurich.For that she started the visa processing (dependent visa) in zurich migration office early this month. It is been heard that siwss embassy won't issue any parallel visa during the process of any other visa. So I would like to know from you members that whether can I be able to go to Germany or any other shengen countries for my vacation during this time of visa process(swiss dependent visa)........will it halt or affect my swiss visa process.......plz make a comment on this matter......thanking u all

I see your nationality is Indian and you will find numerous threads on the dependent visa process for non EU, especially south Asians, which is taking a lot of time. Anywhere between 1 to 3 months.

I suggest you take your vacations in India so that if needed you could push your verification and/or legalization process much faster. Imagine if you are stuck with some papers, you are in Germany, wife in CH and process happening in India. There is no way you would know the process start and end date that you can plan your stay etc.

Just an advice

You have stated in your earlier posts that you are an Indian citizen currently residing in UK. You want to visit Germany. Perhaps there is something I'm missing, but I would think that in this case you apply for a Schengen visa at a German embassy/consulate in UK. I don't see how that involves the Swiss embassy? I also don't see how visiting another Schengen country (I mean other than Switzerland) would interfere with the processing of your dependent visa in Switzerland. But I'm not an expert in those things ...

i understand that you cannot apply for several schengen visas in several countries at the same time. only one application to a schengen state and the result carries for all schengen states. i think that is one of the main ideas behind schengen in that it distributes and reduces the burden of applications across the schengen states.

[if your application fails, then all other schengen states are aware of the failure so you will have to work really hard else where to be successful!]

OP: you could try approaching the visa people in CH where you application for a residency permit is on going. tell them what you want and they may issue you a schengen visa based on your wife's permit.

Thanks Timpy...itz been heard tht there are several agencies who can do the paper works and legalizing works without my presence..when I discussed this matter with an agency they told me to do a bit follow up as well..

when regards to my posted query I am still in dilemma wat to do...?
