Two jobs? Consulting for a company outside Switzerland

Hello,

I'm an Indian citizen working in Switzerland on a B-permit. I was in the USA for 4 years prior to this.

A firm in the US would like to use my services as an independent consultant (a few hours a week, as a technical analyst). They will pay me for my services through a bank transfer either to India or Switzerland. There are no issues with US tax/labour laws since I am not present in the country. I would like to know if I am violating any terms of my B-permit or other Swiss labour laws by taking something like this up. Any ideas on where to turn to for advise regarding this?

Many thanks!

well, your contract shall explicitly mention if there are any such restrictions on you or not.

Usually if it is few hours spent here and there; there is no need to mention it. A lot of people in the IT do that, I guess.

For taxation, if you are not taxed at source, then it might be a good idea to declare it in "other income" section.

But again, it depends on the amount of time and money involved.

p.s. it is not really 2 jobs but rather having one job and another part time activity

sorry for grabbing this thread out of 2009 but what if you're taxed at source and you have two jobs in Switzerland, what happens tax-vise? Can I just enter the two salaries seperately into lohncomputer.ch and add up my net-income?
