Different Permits

Does anyone have any documentation (in English) on various options for permits available to non-EU residents for coming to Switzerland and work - short term (6-12 months).

Any documentation/link would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Different Permits

OK.

Go back to the sight and then go into swiss emigration( I KNOW IT SHOULD BE IMMIGRATION BUT SOMEHOW THEY DO THINGS DIFFERENT IN ZÜRICH)

There you will find it in, D.F,I, ENG.
IT IS DIIFICULT TO FIND.

Otherwise go to Bluewin search, type in www.gov.ch and then go to no. 50 this is on page 5. From there you will get into the site in english, but it is in german to start with ,just press eng. and there it is, don't know if it will help, but hope it does.

All the best.

Yes cyrus,that's the one,

www.bfm.admin.ch

all you've got to do is press the eng.

It's full of information and hopefully for tiger it will be enough, if it's not let me know, and I'll look for some others.

All the best.

Re: Different Permits

Hello everybody,

I am new on this site, i see that i can get a lot of information from this forum it is really great.
I am also new in Zurich, i am a non-EU and i was living i a EU country, and i have some questions?
I am hired as a Doktorand at the Hospital and i will perform my PhD at the University of Zurich, i have a contract with the hospital for 3 years (of course 1 YEAR + RENEWAL).
Before coming the HR here applied for my work permit, and i got everything very fast but i don't know what is the type of this permit????? this not what is confusing.
I have sent an email to the authorities (Migrationsamt) here when i arrived, and i gave them my reference ZAR and ZH numbers of the sheet sent by the authorities to get my visa and my work permit, and they told me that i will get a B.
N.B. on this sheet my function is a DOKTORAND, and they mention that it is a permission for one year with possible renewal.
I
But the HR here are insisting that it will be on a L permit as they applied for a L permit????????? and next year i will get a B automaticly, and even on my contract they precise that i am holding a L permit.

1- I am very confused, who is telling the truth what i will be getting, as it is very important for me to get a B permit?
2- My second question is it possible for the HR to precise that they want a L permit? or the authorities decide basing on quotas whatever????
3-If the HR really apply for a L permit, is it possible to get a B?????????????

I know i am bothering you with my questions, but i really need to clarify this issue as i have some projects for the future regarding my fiancee and with a L it will be very hard.

Thank you in advance,

Re: Different Permits

From what I know is that foreign PhD students do get B permit with a clause stating that they are doktorand...at this point it doesnt really matter if its an L or a B.

Ok so what do you want us to do? The permit says you will be able to change jobs when you get a B. Since you are sure you will get a B what do you worry about?
