I have lived in Zurich for the last 2 years and am now thinking of leaving for a 6 months sabbatical. This would involve resigning from my job as my employer is not a big fan of unpaid leaves and sabbaticals...

Would I be allowed to remain registered in Switzerland (I have a B permit valid for another 3 years)? What would I officially need to do? Has anybody had any experiences with this? What about health insurance,...?

I could be wrong, but I think if you remain registered then you will need to keep paying health insurance.
