| | Running Out Of time [how long can a US national stay in Switzerland without a visa]
I Am An American Citizen And I Have Been In Ch For Almost 2 Month And I Wonder Why Would I Have To Leave After 3 Month If They Didnt Stamp My Passport When I Got Here So They Dont Know When I Got Here....
I Could Probably Just Go Back Home And Come Back As Soon As I Want Cause I Have No Stamp?

Since Germany is part of schengen, no it does not work that way. You have to leave the schengen area completely otherwise you might get banned from all the schengen countries.

What about a quick trip to Turkey or Morocco? Does that count as a proper exit from Schengen-land? It seems too easy. I assume one must be gone for a certain amount of time. Would a weekend in Istanbul then allow you to return to CH for another valid three months? Does anyone know how this works?

So you could spend three months in Morocco or Turkey.

Hi, for what I've searched the options to leave from the Schengen land, are Morocco, Turkey or the UK. The problem is that you only can stay 90 days in a semester. So if you are looking for staying in CH, I advice you to hire a language course, or something similar, and then you are able to ask for the visa and stay a little longer.
I'm argentinean and I'm going to study at St Gallen from Jan to March, and like you, I want to stay a couple of months after finishing my studies.
What I've planned is to travel to London after the 90 days in CH, but if I like CH and St Gallen, I will look for german courses and ask for the visa to stay 2 months.
Can anyone suggests something else? do I am correct?
Thanks for any advice
Fran

I had a friend from California who lived here 7 years without a permit, giving informal conversational English lessons in Cafe's for 50 francs an hour. She only got caught when she applied to immigration to get a visa to stay. Once she was on the radar she was doomed.

Now do you really want to be an illegal immigrant in a country half the size of Ireland?
