| | Can a person do part time work whilst on a NON-Eu Permit?
Hi All,
Could you please clarify if a NON-EU permit holder can do part time work whilst on permanent full time employment? Part time work mainly relates to fulfilling a hobby rather than the financial gain.
Thanking you in advance for you responses....Have a great start to 2010 ...

I believe you can do that as long as it is nor concurrent neither competing with your job, you might need your employer approval in some cases.
I do this myself, i have full time job + I'm a music producer / touring artist.

You can check with the the pension department / taxation office / register of commerce regarding this.
Myself i were not required to pay anything as i earn all my money from abroad & taxes have been paid in countries where contracts occur, though i had to declare this at the end of the year with the supporting docs / agreements.

Sounds a little complicated with all the legalities. Will definitely research within Canton of Luzern before i set out. Will this fall into a category of some sort at the various registration offices?
I have been told, i declare earnings over a certain percentage. And if i can prove that it is more to occupy leisure time then i wud not have to register. Is that true at any point? |

If not then you are restricted to work for that one employer. If in doubt ask the relevant authorities and get their answer in writing, there is no reason to risk your status, based on our opinions....
Good luck with that,
Jim
