| | What will happen if I leave Switzerland more than 3 months with the B permit ?
Hello all,
If I am holding a permit B ( married to Swiss) and leave Switzerland for more than 3 months, will there be any problem when I want to renew my permit in new year?
Another question, for getting the permit C, I suppose have to wait 5 years, during this 5 years, anyone know what Swiss gov. do to monitor your stay? I am planning to study in another country after 2 years staying in switzerland, so what will happen if I don't announce I am leaving, or what will happen if I announce??
Thanks !!

I would think, then, that if you leave for more than 3 but less than 6 months you can keep your permit. If I were you, I would talk to my office of migrations, though, to make sure. Good luck!

Thanks !! | | | | | If you move without telling them that you are moving address it is illegal. If you leave the country and don't have a fixed address inside the country it will be the same thing.
When they figure out that you have relocated without telling them they will probably revoke every piece of paperwork that is relevant. And they will realise that you have left the country. The question is how long will it take.
I would at least go the the commune and just flat out ask them what would happen if you are planning to do what you are planning to do.
Nothing illegal about that and they will tell you what the rules are. But you do have to ask, point blank. Otherwise they assume that you know.
Good Luck,
Brian.

not only that they DO have passport controls these days and databases that are regularly cross-referenced so authorities know where we are for how long etc
this is the second thread in the same vein in the past week, makes me wonder what people think re the way we are registred/monitored every time we take a plane
otherwise, if you study in a location that you can reach by train, then your chances of not being found out increase
still cheating though
if you are found out, my guess is that you loose the B permit and have to leave. just guessing

yes you are right I guess I should go to 'annouce' that I am leaving ...just that I do not get used to their system, I didn't realise I have to make an official note to the commune. Strange country ~~

Don't worry about it. Just leave via car or rail. After Shengen they don't check passports anymore. No record of your leaving, or returning. As long as no one here is reporting on where you are, you will not be missed.

If you are actually relocating semi-permanently doesn't it become a bit trickier?
Thanks,
Brian.

Good for you.
Just because you are dodgy and disrespect the rules of your host country, why would you encourage others to do the same?
The OP plans to study in another country whilst pretending to live here. That sort of sh!t is bound to come back and bite you in the ass.

Read the OP's post again. He or she is married to a Swiss. That means an established home base, where no de-registering or informing of a landlord is involved (unless this is coupled with divorce/separation which is a totally different ball of wax). I take it this is a homesick spouse wanting to spend a few month back home, then return. No-brainer, no problem. Happens all the time. Not an issue...unless they make it one.
