B Permit Form - different for Long term B and Short term B ?

Hi All,

Does anybody know if there are different forms for Long term and short term B permit ?

I received Verfallsanzeige (Ausweis B) form from Kreisburo. The form does not have an option to choose long term or short term B permit or even ask for length of employment contract. This is the first time I will be filling out a B permit form (I am on L permit - Non-EU - unlimited contract).

My company did apply for my B permit (L to B change) online but as per my HR lady there was no option to select long term or short term B permits. However, she did selected 5 years under length of employment contract option (that was the maximum length allowed with online application !!)

I would appreciate if someone who may have gone through such change from L to B permit (short or long term) could respond with their experience.

Thanks in advance for your time. I appreciate your respones.

Sam

Hi

I am guessing you are from Sydney. Being non-EU generally you are entitled to a yearly B permit. The 5 year B Permits are usually given to EU.

I am not sure if coming from an L makes any difference.

Re: B Permit Form - different for Long term B and Short term B ?

When we arrived in March 09, my wife, being American, was given a 1 year B permit.
As the time was approaching to renew, a friend of ours went and had a chat with the powers that be and got a new 5year B permit for my wife. Which was nice. Aparrently twas the first time they had done it for an American in Zug.

Does this means that there is only one B permit form (for all types of B permit) but which B permit you get is decided from the application/documents submitted to local Work/labour office ? (or by Kreisburo ?).
