Non-EU Work Permit Quota 2010

Hi,
My company is aplpying for my Swiss Work Permit for 1 year.
For 2010 it seems that many Work Permits are getting rejected.
What are the possiblity that i could get Work Permit for Switzerland and how much time it will take?

Re: Non-EU Work Permit Quota 2010

It takes a short few weeks.
Nothing you can do to change this.
From India, I presume you work for an outsourcing company ( big stereo type assumption, I know!) and I know that at the end of last year there was an issue getting the permits for these guys, but maybe this had more to do with it being the end of the year and running out of permits rather than anything else.
Anyway, being the begining of the year, they have enough permits still, so you may be ok.
Just sit tight, and good luck !

Share some more details... such, what is the nature of your job? what is your qualification and work experience.... had you been to Switzerland before... what is the reputiation of your company in Switzerland......... answer to all these questions decide a lot about the future of your Work-Permit future.

quite right. I'm pretty sure the big Swiss players have special relationships with the immigration service.
I know Novartis were importing non-eu people without issue right up to Christmas, yet Infosys couldn't get people in.
Seems to be a bit of a lottery.

Re: Non-EU Work Permit Quota 2010

There are lotta rejections going on based on Quota restrictions... Again there should be approval from the Kanton(State) and also from the BFM (Federal office for Migration)...

Again if you are highly specialized there might be chances..

But its worth giving it a try... Good luck..

Lets see... List of countries by population
1 People's Republic of China 1,338,680,000 July 17, 2010 19.52%
2 India 1,183,500,000 July 17, 2010 17.26%
3 United States 309,755,000 July 17, 2010 4.52%
4 Indonesia 234,181,400 July 2010 3.42%

Because India makes up *nearly* 1/5th of the worlds population and has the largest population of higher educated people that speaks English. From that someone could wonder that it is because of this there are a) So many Indians applying b) So many Indians on an English speaking forum asking about visas and rejections there of.

How does ' have you been to switzerland before' matters? In a good way or bad way? Thank you to explain, friend.
