Changing job with B permit (Non EU)..Any risks?

Hi,

I am living in Basel Stadt for more than 4 years with a B permit and I heard a lot of stories so far and searched/read many threads here under this forum but still not clear for me whether a person with B permit (Non EU) can change his/her job without any problem.

I was being told that (with the newest changes) this would not even be an issue for the authorities as long as you have an employer signing off your yearly standard prolongation letter. A proof is that the new credit card shaped permits (contrary to the old ones) do not even include the employer's name and address.

I think the conditions above should be valid for the changes within the Kanton. If i decide to be employed in another Kanton this can not be simply true..but as I said, I am not sure...

opinions are welcomed..

Cheers,

mottamotta

In your situation changing your employer is simply a formality.
