Deregister at the Zurich Stadthaus?

I went to my Kreisbuero to deregister yesterday (I am moving back to the US) and they told me I had to go to the Stadthaus to do this instead.

Is this something new? Does anyone know why?

It was the same when I did it a year or more ago. Probably as you need to provide special information about your tax status etc.

Re: Deregister at the Zurich Stadthaus?

Thanks for the info. I was just under the impression that all of this stuff is handled at the Kreisbüro.
