Dependent B Permit - work and living in different Cantons

Hi, I have searched and know that this topic has been covered for those with the primary permit, but I have not found any information for the dependent permit holder.

I have been given a dependent B permit avec activitie, so I am allowed to work. We are living in Vaud but the company I will work for is in Bern. I have heard two different/opposite things that will happen. In one case, I can start working there no problem, other than advise the canton I will begin to work there.
on the other hand, I was told no, I will need to apply for a new permit to the Bern canton as I cannot work in a different canton than where I have the dependent B permit.
Does anyone have any experience in this?
Does the same rule apply as for the primary permit holder (which I understand from what I read here is that they can work and live in different cantons).
thanks for your help.

Re: Dependent B Permit - work and living in different Cantons

so, after calling the different canton offices and struggling with the language barrier, I think this is the result.

I will go to the Lausanne Bureau de estrangers with my current dependent B permit and the contract and offer letter from my company. The lady said they will re-issue me a work permit. Does this sound right?
In all the threads I saw for dependent B permit holders who can work, they didnt' even have to tell the cantonal offices they were starting to work, so I am surprised by this.
will I be bascially applying for a work permit then and have the chance they will reject it?

Does anyone have any information which can help?
Thanks.
