| | Registration Done..Now what next?
Hi All,
Quick question which has probably been asked and answered already but I just can't find it.
We went down to the Kreisburo to register today (husband & I). Hubby holds a Swiss passport but has lived in UK for maybe 99% of his life so please pardon any ignorance. At the end of it, I was given a card that says on it:
Stadt Zurich
Bevolkerungsamt
I think this probably is an acknowledgement of my registration. My question now is what next? Presumably this is not the permit? or is it? If not, when do I get my permit? The lady at the Kreisburo said I'd get a B permit but not sure when or how that will come.
thanks for reading and if this has already been asked and answered, I'd be grateful if someone could post me a link.
xx

When your permit is ready, you'll receive an invitation to come and fetch (and pay) for it.

MUCH MUCH MUCH more, but not for the permit. sometimes you pay up front I noticed sometimes you do not.....
next is to check any outstanding lines to your appartment. i just received a bill again for 100 + for cable which i was not aware of. App previous owner did not cancel and charges move on. After some yelling back and forth the guy needs to come and remove the plug from the wall (can you believe it) for another 70 if I do not want to pay to ensure I have not been sneaking around.
This counts also for phone, internet, etc etc....make sure noting is outstanding as they have tried to catch me 3times now....

You will need your marriage certificate, your passport, your rent contract(if you rent) or proof that you are resident... Go to the Gemeinde together if you can....it will make things easier.
When you have your B pass you will have to have Swiss health insurance, that is compulsory..... a few searches will find you a good deal for that.
Try www.comparis.ch I got a good choice from there....

And assuming you didn't leave your passport at the Gemeindehaus/Kreisburo, you should get a stamp in your passport showing you are being processed and off you go...

Take your passport, photo, acknowledgement that you have already applied for residence permit and arnd 100 chf, ask for a re-entry visa and the time frame you want to be travelling in schengen area, it takes around 5-10 minutes and you will be good to go anywhere in schengen region...

But question is here is it possible at all to travel while in process for B visa, no matter if person need or does not need a schengen visa in usual circumstances.
Because for example, while waiting for spouse visa you are not allowed to enter Switzerland although in normal circumstances you do not need any visa to enter as a tourists.
Question is are there any special rules regarding leaving Switzerland that apply when in process for waiting a permit
Thanks

And 100CHF for the temporary visa...that is quite a lot!

Thanks | | | | | You need to go to migration office and take your passport, your letter of process and a passport photo (appropriate size) and they will give you a temporary re-entry visa in your passport. Once you have done this you can travel. It is not advisable to travel outside of switzerland without this.

Make sure you take your Swiss spouse with you to speak with the staff in Swiss German if possible, and also take his or her swiss passport. They do speak english so this is also not a big problem.

We don't even have a TV...
