Non-EU Citizen 3 Month Rule

Hello All,

I have been living in Switzerland for over 8 years now.

My girlfriend would like to join me in Switzerland. However, she is from Mexico, and therefore is restricted to 3 months in Switzerland on a visitor's permit.

I will start working in Geneva on 1st October, and was thinking of living in France and also taking a small apartment in Switzerland. The thought is that, at least in the short-term, we can live 3 months in France and then switch to the apartment for the following 3 months, and so on.

Is anyone aware if this would be possible?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Non-EU Citizen 3 Month Rule

but I think you will be paying taxes in both wouldnt you? I know there is some agreement for the ones living in France full time but dont know for part time.

Also France is Schengen so I believe you need to leave the schengen area in order for the 90 day rule to apply, therefore not changing your situation at all.

Check out some different post with other visa issues. you might pick something up in those

Also the advice given above I am not certain off.

Re: Non-EU Citizen 3 Month Rule

Thanks for your input Anthony. Much appreciated.

The only other option is that I employ her. However, as I understand it, I must advertise the position, and only when no-one applies for it, then I may give her the job.

Do you know how involving that is or is it merely a formality which I simply must go through?

Thanks again.
