I am not working now. But can I have G permit while my husband has?

My husband is french and we live in Annemasse in France. He works in Geneva so he has a G permit. But my nationality is Chinese and currently, I am studying french in Geneva.

My friend told me I CAN have a G permit even I don't work now, because my husband has G permit. But my husband has to do a lot of work to apply for me. You know, company is always looking for a person who already has a permit.

Well, I think I am not able to work as I am just a beginner of french. But if it is possible to apply for a G permit, when why not prepare it first.

Anyone knows about more details of this?
Thank you guys.

This is not really relevant, as the OP lives in France.

See this website re. G permits. http://www.ejpd.admin.ch/ejpd/en/hom...willigung.html

I don't think you can get a G permit through your husband. But if you get a job contract and live in the border zone, it may be possible. But see some other threads on the forum related to this, as there was some discussion on the difficulties of non-EU living in France.
