moving to switzerland with two wives

hello. i'm moving to switzerland and bringing my two wives. i have 3 children with my first wife and 2 children with my second.

i wanted to see if this will be problem in switzerland to recognise 2 marriages?

also, what happen with tax? do i count only children from first wife? obviously my wives do not work so there is no problem combining all income to tax together.

i wondered if i must choose one wife to be 'official' wife here. thanks for any help.

Sorry, but can I ask the obvious question..where are you from? Because I am not entirely sure which country recognizes pologmist marages. Maybe you should ask at the Swiss embasy in your home country.

I suggest you move to my my home country instead : France.. There poligamist families are widely welcome.. you will even be able to get social benefits twice..for each wife.. and don't forget to bring all your expanded family as well...

Re: moving to switzerland with two wives

you'll have an issue with your second wife that's for sure.

Don't even know where to begin with this
permit will be tricky if she doesn't work.
If she has enough money in her name it might be ok (but what's the value necessary to enter the country without work? 500 000 chuffs?)

you surely think about Paul Bocuse (article in french) who is famous for living with 3 women, and all the 3 accepting it. He even stated it in newspaper. Ok he is famous, successful, white catholic....so rules do not apply to him but only to immigrants from "other" countries with dark skins. None of them are officialy in polygamy but rules are applied differently.

but for normal family with husband working and wife not working it is possible to get wife a non-working visa, yes? so i think to get two of these for my wifes because they will not be working but instead i will be working and responsible for them.

what country are you in right now?

your second wife will have to be considered a non wife if you come to Switzerland. She will need a lot of money to show she is independent and won't need money from the governement to survive.

I hope you know what it costs to live in Switzerland or else it will be difficult for everyone including yourself. You do know the costs in Switzerland don't you? I hope you have a 200 000 chf salary minimum

Re: moving to switzerland with two wives

Polygamy is illegal in Switzerland.
Quote:
„Wer eine Ehe schliesst oder eine Partnerschaft eintragen lässt, obwohl er verheiratet ist oder in eingetragener Partnerschaft lebt, wer mit einer Person, die verheiratet ist oder in eingetragener Partnerschaft lebt, die Ehe schliesst oder die Partnerschaft eintragen lässt, wird mit Freiheitsstrafe bis zu drei Jahren oder Geldstrafe bestraft.“
– Artikel 215 StGB
Basically, if you are married to/have a registered partnership with more than one person, you can be fined or jailed for up to three years. A Turkish guy who had been neutralised had his citizenship revoked because he had been found to have more than one wife.

I ask this at the risk of getting Groans.
What brings you to Switzerland? What kind of job will you be doing?
Why Switzerland? Any many more questions
