Putting "C" permit on hold

Hello,

Can someone tell me something how if is possible to put the "C" permit on hold, in case of spending some time outside switzerland, for work? For how long can this "on hold" status last?

Thanks,

Gustavo

Some discussion here which mentions leave of absence for B and C permits.

how many months can we be away from CH [Switzerland] with the B Permit?

Thanks for the link, but all topics I found were a little bit old...

I was wondering what are the current rules... I heard that you can put the "C" on hold for 2 years, but also heard people saying 4 years...

Thanks,

Gustavo

Re: Putting "C" permit on hold

I recently received the C permit in Zurich (changed from a french speaking canton) and saw that the letter attached to it now says you can put it on hold for 4 years. How to go about it would be a question for the county / gemeinde.

I would be interested in what you find out though...

Good luck
