Emergency cat sitter (18-26th Dec)

Our cat had an operation on Friday to remove a foreign object from his small intestine (bits of a silicone heat mat). Thankfully the op went fine and he's coming home today. The only issue is that we were planning to travel (long haul) on the 18th Dec but now we're a bit apprehensive about leaving him at the cattery (where he was originally booked in). The main causes of concern are that he would have just had his stitches taken out the day before, and if the place is heaving with other cats (due to the holidays) he may go unnoticed by staff. A much better solution would be a dedicated cat sitter who could look after him in their home. I’m waiting to hear back from our vet on whether one of the practice nurses would be prepared to take him on, but if not does anyone have any other recommendations (18-26th Dec inclusive)? I would be prepared to travel an hour or so from Basel (e.g. ZH, BE etc..)

The only other alternative would be to cancel our trip, which would be a shame since we’ve been looking forward to it for ages.. however the young man comes first, and if we have to cancel, so be it.

Thanks

Re: Emergency cat sitter (18-26th Dec)

How do you deal with the cat when you normally go on holidays?

We just got a young cat and trying to find good solution, ideally involving a cat sitter. However, our neighbors don't like cats. Where are good place to find cat sitters? Any tips?
But also looking for other ideas.

Thanks, FEXY
