Dog crossing Swiss/French Border

Hello,

We are looking into getting a little puppy. We travel from Geneva, Switzerland to Chamonix, France every weekend. Is there a problem crossing the border with a dog? Do we need to declare the dog time each time.

Thanks

Re: Dog crossing Swiss/French Border

Everything you need to know about crossing borders with pets, courtesy of the good folks at the Bvet, in English even:

ETA: Are you first time dog owners here? If so, dont forget that you are required to take the SKN theory course before you acquire your dog.

And regardless of experience, all dog owners are required to take the practical SKN course within 12 months of acquiring the dog. This goes for every additional dog you add to the family.

We've done it loads of times and have never been stopped, but you'll have to ensure you have done all the items in the link above.
