Hello everyone!

My husband and I just moved to Switzerland at the start of the New Year. He and I are going back to the US for a short visit in the start of March. We live in Brugg (in between Zurich and Basel for those who don't know). I am looking for someone who would be willing to watch my ferret for the time we are away. It would be preferred that my ferret can stay with you, but I am willing to negotiate a different plan.

We leave on the 3rd of March and would be returning on the 9th. If I am dropping off the ferret at your place, it would be on the 2nd and I would pick him back up on the 9th when we return.

I would prefer that you be someone knowledgeable about ferrets. Please understand that this will require him to come out of the cage daily and he'll need to be supervised. What you should know about my ferret: He's 1 and neutered, descented and fully vaccinated. He's also a very rare gem in that he NEVER bites people. Never. He plays well with other animals, his best friend in our home is our 20 lb dog. He doesn't chew on cords, you just need to make sure he doesn't crawl into places he's not allowed. Oh and his name is Tobias, Tobi for short.

If my ferret will be staying at your house and you have a large dog that loves to eat small furry creatures, I'll be a little nervous with that.

If you'd be willing to help me out by watching my special little guy, I'd really appreciate and of course would be willing to return the favor should you have a critter of your own.

If you happen to live in Neuchatel, that also works for us because my dog will be staying with a relative there and we'll need to drop her off as well.

Bonus: if you happen to be a Lady Gaga fan, I'd be happy to buy you something from her concert (she's part of the reason we are returning to the US for a short while).

I don't mind that you are in Basel. It's not far from me. I also don't mind that you know nothing about ferrets too much, I can certainly tell you all there is to know. It's just more work than a hamster is, you know?

He is a lot of fun but I understand. Just like I'd be nervous if he stayed at someone's house who had a big dog who liked to eat small furry things. I'd hate to come home and have someone tell me their dog ate my ferret. Especially after all it took to get him here lol

I can't help as I have a dog who is afraid of kittens, and a two year old isn't afraid of anything, but OMG, that is the cutest ferret I have ever seen. Now I want a ferret...

We are pretty lucky. The sheer cuteness of our pets gets people jumping to take care of them (and offering to take them for us should we ever need a new permanent home for them. Had to beat people with a stick to lay off my dog when I moved to Switzerland.) LOL
