Hi all! We would LOVE to be involved with a pet-sitting network, as we have two adorable animals of our own..

Your pet
Type of animal: dog
Breed - black labrador
Age of animal - 2.5
Animal spayed? - no
Gender - female

Your environment
House - House large
Garden? - yes normal size, with miles of walking/forest trails next door
Any other pets? - yes 1 cat
Your location - Rotkreuz, Zug

our preferred sitter just canceled for next weekend, so we would love to find someone to watch our loving, house-trained lab for us from Thu night DEc 16 to Monday night Dec 20. We will gladly reciprocate! She's a sweetheart, and very good with kids. Never barks or bites.

Hello Janite! Sent you a PM!

Hi,
Great idea
We have just moved to Wollishofen, Zurich and we're going to transport our cat here the beginning of next year.
Thanks Yulie for your generous help this Christmas time - First time I could truly disconnect and enjoy being away as I knew my little ones were in caring hands

Happy New Year everyone!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi everyone, I've created a poll and am intending to organise a monthly dog walk for everyone who has signed up for this network. This might allow us to find potential/future swaps, expand our canine network, or simply let the dogs run around and socialise with each other

Appreciate any feedback or additional ideas on there.

I can attest that the three are the sweetest angels.
Too bad I will not be around during the time.

Pet Sitting Network Zurich Dog Walk
Right everyone, as promised, I've created an event for a dog walk next Sunday. The weather looks good - the trail and open space here, is absolutely stunning.

Zurich Dog Walk

This is a great opportunity for everyone interested in this network, and havent met up with other fellow dog owners, to come and hopefully ascertain if there are good matches in your home environments, f you ever need a sitter.

I am trying to make this a monthly thing if there is sufficient interest. Look forward to meeting some of you and your furry friends.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

I introduced my lovely Cocker Spaniel a few posts ago... now it is getting urgent.
Is there someone who would like to take care of him from 24th - 31st march? We are located in Lachen SZ / Oberer Zürichsee....
He is 10 years old and easy with other animals. He is very friendly and likes anyone, enjoys to go for a walk.....

If you are interest, please contact me - I would like to return the favour.

Re: Pet Sitting Network - Questions and Comments

Hi folks,

I have a dilemma. I am finally going to arrive in Basel, but because of the poor timing with my visa being approved and my start date in Basel, it is impossible to find a temporary housing that will allow my dogs.

Does anyone know if there is a kennel in the Basel area that will accept or board my dogs before I have had a chance to register them at a local veterinarian?

Or... would anyone be willing to pet sit for a month while I look for a permanent place to live?

Re: Pet Sitting Network - Questions and Comments

With the wording of one of my posts on this Thread I'm obviously partly guilty that it is off-topic too much.
This Thread is for Questions and Comments about the pet Sitting Network only.

There is a Pet Sitting Network for folk prepared to look after other folks' pets on a mutual benefit basis.
There is the Pet Trading Post if you are looking for a sitter for your dog or other pet at a specific time.
There is a Pet Boarding Thread with recommendations for places for Boarding Pets.

Those of you joining the Pet Sitting Network - the idea is that you are 'active' and go through the posts looking for 'partners'.

If this goes right off-topic again, I'll have to keep coming back and deleting (which wastes your time as well as mine)

Back on-topic please

Re: Pet Sitting Network - Questions and Comments

I would like to know how where you experience with petsitting24.ch
I'm meeting one person to see how we all will interact.
I have never at home used this kind of a service - dog walking during a day.
if I needed someone, my friends would come and take my dog. but they had apartement key and I trusted them.
don't laugh (too much) on my questions but - how is that done with someone from petsitting24.ch? do I leave them with one key, do I leave them the money or I pay them later?

Re: Pet Sitting Network - Questions and Comments

Petsitting 24 is simply a platform to connect sitters and owners, they have no further involvement. So it is up to you to establish how you and the sitter will work together.

You should establish if the sitter is working as self employed or a business, or whether you need to employ the sitter yourself, adding all the social insurances and taxes, do the bureaucratic stuff. I would guess most sitters listing are not set up to work independently, so you need to figure in the additional costs.

You should also check with your insurer, see if you need to additional coverage, both for liability as a well as accident insurance for your employee. Especially in the case of giving a key, make sure you discuss if or how that might affect your current coverage with your insurer.

I would suggest a written contract covering all duties, expectations, limits to authority granted, etc.

Re: Pet Sitting Network - Questions and Comments

I have gotten five clients using petsitting24.ch. I am a pet sitter and it is a great way to find people. There are a lot to choose from and you can screen them before you invite them into your home.
