Puppy couture.

Ok, I am pretty embarrassed to write this, but I see no other way.

When Bruce The Poodle immigrated to Austria, we had a problem finding him a frisseur. Thus after 2 months we he was somewhat rastafarian, and was not the pampered pooch we like to maintain, but looked more like he should be smoking weed in Central America somewhere.

Thus we had no decision but to shave his dreads off. As he is use to the somewhat more humid climate in Sydney, he has been freezing his balls off (well he would be if he still had any). It twangs at my heart strings to see this happening to my little Rat dog.

Does anyone know somewhere in Central Zurich that sells wool jumpers and warm jackets for smaller dogs that are big in personality?

He does not like to wear fur.

Re: Puppy couture.

Would you like me to take Bruce's measurements? he is most likely about 5cm around the middle.

He would find that delightful he said. However, I am assuming with all the wining and dining that you newlyweds do that we need an interim fix also.

Don't look at me. I am hideous.

As for the fluffy part, did you not read my post mate? The whole problem is that he is not fluffy anymore (well aside from his bouffants on his tail and head).

Have a look here. The shop is on Forch Strasse just at Hegibachplatz tram stop on the 11 line. He's a really friendly guy in there and has all sorts for the more fashionable pooches

About the same as me, then.

MN is looking to see what measurements she'll need - she'll get back to you soon.

(In the short term, I seem to recall there being a pet shop on Weinbergstrasse, just up the hill from Central, that specialises in the kinds of accessories you seek. Unfortunately, I can't find it on the interwebs, so it might not be there any more... but if you're in the area, perhaps you could have a look?)

Re: Puppy couture.

OK, just need his chest measurement (i.e. circumference just behind the front legs) and back length, say from collar to base of tail. Oh, and let me know if he has a favorite color.

Haha, awesome. Also, but it does not need to be that long as he still needs to wizzle.

Apparently he is having an affair with the head search and rescue dog here in St Anton. He is clearly his bitch. So much bum sniffing.

My mum is just doing measurements now.

There is a shop in Enge that caters for pampered pooches. It is located near the junction of Alfred-Escher-Strasse & General-Willie-Strasse.

Dog coats are specially designed to allow wizzlation. They only cover the back (all the way to the tail) and part of the chest. The belly and lincolnshire lipstick areas are left uncovered.

Chest: 40 cm.
Collar to base of tail: 35cm.

Colour: He would like something very masculine as he is ruff and tuff. So perhaps a cappuccino or mocha tone?

No worries, it won't be. Just thought that would be the easiest measurement to describe... I will make it a few inches short of that.

Don't let Bruce hear you say "short" and "inches" in the same sentence.

I'll see what I've got in the stash... Probably can't start on it until the weekend though as I am supposed to be packing right now.

Tash, I think this is the shop that Lou was thinking of - incidentally, the shop prides itself as a place for small dogs with big souls:

Sells pullis and fleece:

Great place for Bruce to embrace his metrosexuality.
