Anyone with a Shiba Inu Or Akita Inu in Basel

Hi,

I have a year old Shiba Inu called Mara. I've come across lots of dogs but not yet a shiba inu or akita inu. I was wondering if there is anyone with one of these dogs who would like to meet up for a walk?

thanks,
Tina

I have two shiba inu, but live in Stäfa. If you ever want to meet up half way, I'd be willing to try.

Have you had any luck finding a shiba-proof off leash area?

Hi,

Oh that's cool, sure. Would love to meet up. There's a old city wall in Basel where i take mine and it's kinda walled up. She runs around there freely. Otherwise, no way off the leash...

What are your munchkins called?

Hi Tina,
I live just across the border in France and have an Akita-Inu. I regularly walk him in the woods around here and although I haven't met any other Akita or Shibu owners I am sure that I have passed an Akita in Hegenheim and a Shiba in Hésingue, but I was driving at the time, so there may be more in the area than you realise.

Hi ElggDK,

This specific breed are known to be quite stubborn, have a high prey drive; they will follow anything that moves even if it's just leaves being blown by the wind...thus, gotta keep them on a leash. Every dog is different in personality, with Mara (my dog), spent a lot of time on training her and now she's so loving, always around me.

Thank you, that's my dog called Mara. Yep.... she's a dog... or is she a fox?
