I hope everything turns out ok for you and Tana. While the staff at the Tierspital sometimes can't tell their ass from their elbow, everyone I've dealt with there genuinely cares for animals and treats them well. Our dog goes every 2 months for treatment and they all know her and spoil her when they see her - to me that shows they actually spend time with their "patients".

Good luck. We had to use the Tierspital in Zurich when our cat had an eye parasite, which eventually resulted in the eye being removed. That was 4 years ago and she's just fine with one eye.
Be aware that the Tierspital know how to charge! The started by billing us CHF200 before anything else just for for attending to our cat over lunchtime. The final bill was near to CHF1000 and then we still went to our usual vet for eye removal...

Tierspital: No news are good news. Tana is fighting and doing OK so far, not quite sure what exactly means ok... so I need to wait. | Quote: | | | | | Good luck. About the bill, I will be happy to spend more time at home and reduce the general expenses as long as I have her back . They have told me up front what were the cost I was incurring, which I thought it was quite decent from them.

Yay!!!
So glad to hear that she is doing better! I hope she's not in much pain...
I have a cat that I love like a child. She is already 11 years old, and I dread the day when her health starts to fail. Thank you so much for sharing your story and letting us know how she is doing!

Great news!! And now, when she is feeling well enough, she can swagger around her neighbourhood bearing her scars and showing all the other moggies how "well hard" she is | This user would like to thank mimi1981 for this useful post: | |

Thank you so much for all the good energy sent during last days.
Tana is resting and sleeping most of the time and strongly purring when getting close to her. No pain or at least she doesn´t show it, and most important she is eating and drinking slowly.

Just that you know, the news after her operation was that her stomach, despite the perforations, was not in that bad situation, not too much pus and/or inflamation: which was due to bringing her that quickly to the tierspital. The nurse told me they didn´t know whether it would be possible to conduct the surgery or not, so I can just guess that if the belly would have been very deteriorated, it may have not been possible... not to mention the suffering of the poor animal.

I think we as pet owners know when something is wrong, and we just need confirmation we are right. And in reality, I just gave you the advice I wish someone had given me.
But this is all really good news. I hope her recovery continues to go well. Please do update us in about a week with her progress. By then, you will (hopefully) be out of the woods.
