Re: Good wishes needed for my kitty...

What a difference a day makes. After spending most of last night in a drug-induced stupor, my kitty was up early and begging for food this morning. She's back to her usual self, and aside from some skeptical looks when we headed out the door to work, seems to be on the road to recovery.

She got double-rations of food and a little extra spoiling this morning...

Re: Good wishes needed for my kitty...

So glad to hear that you beautiful kitty is doing better today. She definitely deserves extra food, treats, cuddles and spoiling after that ordeal! I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum's cat.

I think the 'woe is me' look will come a little later this evening. Right now, it's the 'three-sheets-to-the-wind' look -- wild eyes not really focusing, stumbling about and losing her balance. Kind of like me after a night on the town.
I had to keep a straight face whenever my dogs did that after coming off anaesthetic. Good comic relief after a stressful period of waiting and not knowing. Animals are so much more resilient that we give them credit for.

Still keeping our paws crossed for the results!

Great to hear some good news for a change......glad she's recovered from her ordeal. A real shame about your Mum's cat though, just what you don't need to hear just now....

Re: Good wishes needed for my kitty...

More good news! Just got a phone call from the vet -- they received the result of the biopsy today and it looks like it was just a cyst. They say that it shouldn't reappear and my kitty should be good-as-new!

Re: Good wishes needed for my kitty...

Glad you didn't have to wait too long for the results and what a relief it was just a cyst. One of our dogs has had many removed, they have a very long name that sounds scarey but they are all cysts, fortunately.

Hope your cat is not finding the stitches too annoying. They start to get itchy which is always a big problem for our dogs.

Re: Good wishes needed for my kitty...

Luckily, the stitches are on her chin, so there's no way for her to pull or tug at them. She's rubbing up against things, but that's normal behaviour for her.

We were hoping that the results would come back saying that it was a cyst, but a friend of ours who is a vet said that while these sorts of growths are normally benign (and quite common) on dogs, often on cats the were cancerous. That's why we're doubly-relieved that it wasn't anything serious.

Stitches come out on Friday. Then all we need to do is wait for the fur to grow back on her chin -- she's a little funny-looking with a shaved muzzle!

Re: Good wishes needed for my kitty...

See? All those tails, and claws, and paws, and toes, and fingers crossed (and in some cases, brain cells) worked!!!!

She'll be fine. It's the tummy stitches which are a bugger.
