Hello, we will be on vacations and are planning to leave our cat in the Tierheim Stetten in Aargau. Has any of you left your cat there and how was the experience?

Are there any other Cat sitting homes where you find your cat happy?

I've just inherited a 5 year old tom that a fellow member could not have in their new apartment. I'd be happy to cat sit for a couple of weeks if you'd like to bring it round.

I dont want to leave him in an apartment as he is used to roaming around wild. He is literally out 14 hrs a day. He may run out at the slightest opportunity.

I know someone who works there, I think your cat will be fine.

Oscar has been to stay there lots of times.....in fact we just picked him up on Saturday after his last stay.

He loves it there (I think) and the people in charge really seem to look after the cats well. He's never lost weight......the same can't be said for other places he's been to. On the other hand he's such a big cat he probably pushes the little ones out of the way when it comes to feeding time!
He's been there so many times that I'm actually starting to recognise other cats who are staying there quite a lot too. That's got to be a good sign. Another thing I like about the place is that they actually let you see where the cats are living, and the facilities available. I have left him in one place before (never again!) that practically shut the door in my face when I tried to peek into the cat area. If it hadn't been for the fact that I HAD to go on a trip I wouldn't have left him there.....
(And I'm sure someone's going to say that the cattery was only being security conscious, but any cattery worth it's salt would have a double gate on the enclosure anyway.)

BTW fees are 16CHF per day.
