I don't have a cat at the moment but I just wanted to thank you for this kind and generous offer. I'm sure you'll have some kitty friends soon enough!

Gorgeous cats indeed!
They seem to be suggesting you to use less the pc or to close the windows |

Hi Laura,
Thanks for your post! It's so weird you were the first result that I clicked on when typing in 'cat sitter basel'. My wife Jo and I just got here from England a couple of months ago, and have a lovely siamese called Audrey. I will send you a photo of her when Jo shows me where they are! Anyway, we've been starting to worry about what to do when we're due to go away for a week in September, as she's very dear to us and all that. ANYWAY, if you would like to meet her and perhaps feed her for a few days that would be wonderful. Always good to meet new people too. We have a lovely loft apartment on efringerstrasse, about 10 mins on bike from you I guess.
Ok, hope to be in touch!

I'll extend the same offer in Zug!
I reserved two ridiculously cute ragdoll kittens a few weeks after my beloved cat of 10 years died of cancer then I found out I was leaving the country.
They are still in England and I go home frequently enough that (I think) they know who I am... they live with my boyfriend.
I would be happy to catsit in Zug area for free if anyone needs it.

Hello there !
There is a Basel Expats Cat Sitting Network started by Maudthecat I think! We also have a yahoo and a Facebook page.
There's a meeting tonight at Eo Ipso a bar in Gundeli starting at 7 pm as several of us live in this area of Basel.
Maybe see you there!

Indeed, shamelessly started by me when I was a hausfrau and needed someone to sit my cats when I went on holiday
Am I allowed to post a link to our FB page? If so, it's here: https://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=146030149215
The yahoo group also exists (BaselExpatCatsittingNetwork) but I must confess I don't check it as often as I should...
Anyway, do please join if you want. There's a small core of us who regularly sit for each other. BruceFan has been very good at organising the meet-ups this summer. (Sadly I'm out tonight as am fighting a horrid summer cold. I seem to be nothing but ill/busy right now.)

Happy to help out! I should be around in September, and I love having conversations with siamese cats.

Well done Laura! I joined the pet sitting network thread on here because I too miss my little furry friend. I'm in Gundeli, Traubert, but I think Laura should get first dibs , but if she's busy let me know. I got a gig a few months ago, lovely cat up near Brausebad, and made a new friend with her owner. I found during the week it was hard to spend too much time with her after work, so a bit closer to Gundeli or en route between there and Wettstein would be better for the cat and for me - weekends pretty much anywhere in Basel-Stadt would be fine. I've requested to join the FB group Maudthecat, thanks for that, I didn't know it existed | This user would like to thank planetali for this useful post: | |

Thanks to those who have asked to join the FB group - can't access FB til I get home, but will accept you as soon as I can
(Unless BruceFan is set as an admin too? I may have done that).

Hi Laura, et al.,
I'm also the owner of a (1/2) siamese. He has striking markings! His name is Leo and he's owned me for about 9 years now. Here's the problem, it seems that I am pretty allergic to him. My allergies have turned to asthma. In addition, I am spending more and more time away from Basel. This year will be especially bad. I just returned from two months away and will be turning around and spending about 3 1/2 weeks away again beginning Sep 8. I think he deserves a new home. Someone who is around and who can give him the cuddling he needs. He needs a home without other animals or young children. He likes to cuddle up on a lap while someone watches TV and to sleep close at night. He's a good hunter and is used to having access to the out of doors. I can find people to come feed him but I think he deserves better. Can anyone help? Know someone who could give him a good home?
