| | Dog Walker/Sitter in Lausanne
Hello all!
Thought I'd post this since Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up and I know this person still has some space available for dogs needing to be walked or taken care of over holidays or weekends:
I can recommend Dan Sperrin for dog-walking and/or dog-sitting, he is 33 and English with dog experience his entire life, living in Lausanne.
The dogs he takes over holidays or weekends are walked 3 times a day, with at least one 2 hour walk and the others between 30min - 1h (unless your dog needs more or less exercise of course). He includes playtime and varies the walk locations, basic obedience training and tips are also possible.
Your dog would be kept in a family of two persons with 3 other dogs (2 females and 1 male). S/he would have his own sleeping space wherever s/he prefers within 3 rooms, can stay in the bedroom at night if it's a dog that needs company for comfort, plus grooming and feeding/medication depending on your instructions of course.
Fee is 30,- CHF a day plus bring your own food for dog-sitting, dog-walking fees depend on what you need per day. Dan has taken excellent care of my dogs as well as my sister's and additional references are available on request. Over the past 6 months I've also gone on dog-walks with him nearly every day so I've seen how he treats them, he's gentle but firm and very responsible and dedicated.
Anyways, if anyone needs a walker/sitter just send me a pm or respond here and I'll put you in touch with each other.
Take care! |

In Zürich-Dübendorf I've left my dogs at this place often, they love it there, it's like Kindergarten for pooches www.tierhuesli-pepino.ch | This user would like to thank IQ_QI for this useful post: | |

30,- CHF per day for sitting is pretty much the going rate here in Switzerland. There are cheaper places which I was unfortunate enough to have to fall back on in an emergency once and I got back two extremely stressed and scared poopsies ... never again. As soon as I remember the place outside of Lausanne at which I had that bad experience I'll post it.
Guess I should add that Dan does walking during the week as well of course, my top post sounds like it's for vacations and weekends only which isn't the case; like I said we head out every day, spend a couple hours wandering around the lake and woods, such a beautiful fall this year!!
Also, if you need someone over vacation Zurich is 2:10min trainride from Lausanne, so if you can arrange or pay for pick-up that's doable - might be worth it for decent care over 2 weeks at x-mas or whatnot |

Hi,
Can you PM me his contact details, we generally avoid trying to leave our dogs with sitters, but would be useful for emergencies.

Done!
If you visit a sitter once or twice with your dogs before leaving them there they tend to grow to love the place, it really is like kindergarten playtime for most of them!

I got a brochure explaining that if my dogs are hoarse or drink a lot or seem extra tired when I get them back it's normal
My dogs stank and one had an eye infection - they were in a cement kennel barking their heads off along with every other dog in the place apparently... horrible!
Luckily, I came back early cause the bad feeling in the pit of my gut proved to be correct, took my girls 3 days plus antibiotics to recuperate, I'll never quite get over the guilt.
Anyways, not recommended!!!

Hello everyone,
I just recently moved to Saint Blaise, outside of Neuchatel and I don't offer a lot, just the typical things I give my dogs. I take them for a walk everyday unless it's raining, swimming on a nice day, lay out in the backyard on a nice day, give them treats, play fetch, and let them sleep inside.
I don't have a big backyard, or even a big place, but I can take 2 dogs at a time for 20CHF a dog per day.
Thanks.

Helas...many places are like the one you mention. Many dogs = boxes with several dogs in each of the = risks of diseases... There are some great places: i know one near Nyon.
My paradise for dogs: I regularly take 1-2 dogs during people's vacation or just for week-ends. I live in Yvonand (10 km from Yverdon) in a house with a garden (no boxes) where dogs live all daylong with the family (1 dog + 2 cats). I walk the dogs 2 x 1 hours per day in the woods, lake, river, fields together with my adorable female labrador. Lots of playing, lots of fun, lots of love...If you are interested, send me a private message and I will give you the address and phone number. You can come and visit the place any time (just call me before to make sure I am at home) to see the place (which is also good for the dogs as they will later not arrive in the unknown). Requested: the dogs must be vaccinated and in good health, sociable, educated and tolerate cats. Rate: CHF 25.- per day, 35 for 2 "normal size" dogs (up to 25 kg). I also take puppies and go on with their education (2 x 15 minutes per day)according to the owner's instruction. As I had to cancel my vacation for family reasons, I still have place for July |

From time to time I take dogs as a dog-sitter (nearby Lausanne).
They don't have to be very educated but they have to be very sociable with other dogs, because I already have three adorable "four-paws" at home, living in a big house, big garden and on big sofas...
Contact me with pm or post it.

Hello Mollie, even though your post is from 2008 I am hoping you can still help me with my adorable, well educated 3 year old flat coated retriever lady. I am in desperate need of someone who can take care of her wehnever I am working which is mostly 3 times a month fo 3 to 5 days as I work for an airline. I don't want to give her to a kennel, I did that once, never again....
so if you are still around, please let me know. Dagmar and Frieda | Quote: | | | | | From time to time I take dogs as a dog-sitter (nearby Lausanne).

Hi,
I am trying to find someone to walk/play with my dog midday (30min-1 hr) for one week in February (14-18). I work full time and my husband will be out of town. Please let me know if this is possible and what the cost would be. We live in Echandens.
Thanks!
