| Latest update ..
He's been back at the vet and the vet spoke to her colleague for second opinion. He's still got the cherry eye, they decided it's pointless to push it back in again, he's to get the operation.. However they want to wait another 2-3 weeks because they fully expect the other eye will go too and need done.
Looks terrible but he doesn't seem to care.
Suppose getting both done together would be cost effective but I'm guessing he would be vision impaired until it healed up?? | |

Hi
We have a mix of a french bulldog and a pug and he had a cherry eye when he was very young. He had an operation where they popped the thing back in place and stitched it up. He had to wear a collar for 10 days I think, but no impairment of sight (as far as we could tell).
As far as I remember there are usually two options for the operation:
1) They pop the thing back where it belongs and stitches it up
2) They cut away the thing and give stitches
We went for option 1 as option 2 could lead to problems with dry eyes at an older age.
