Could it actually happen

I was having a drink on a terrace yesterday and i met a man who showed me a pic of his cat on his phone.

I had a cat who was a tabby with a wee white face and a front left leg which was white.

This man showed me the pic and i automatically said - that's Saturna. She has been dead for ten years.

Then we got to chatting - his cat meows when she walks (check), is a fussy eater but loves chicken (check), is ok around dogs (check),

I think i have seen the pic of a kitten of a kitten of my cat, and in the same area of Geneva!!

He has invited me to visit.

How weird and wonderful is that?

Please note that when i adopted her she had had one litter and was spayed afterwards. I did also have one of her daughters. The others kittens i don't know where they went. But the timeline seems to fall into place.

PS i had drunk one glass of wine - so drunken deja vu did not come into the conversation.

Re: Could it actually happen

And another thing - she only eats the chicken from the Mr Chicken van in front of the post office in Charmilles (check). And puts her nose up at homemade roast chicken (check).

I truly believe that his cat is related to mine. And am happy that she has given her genes to a cat who is obviously loved and is healthy and happy.

The cat in question is 15. Saturna died when she was 15.

So there is long life there too.

Just something silly i thought to share with you.

It is possible that your cat faked its death and ran away to another owner.

Don't ask miaow it managed it though.

Re: Could it actually happen

No. My cat died in my arms 10 years ago. She was dead, i poked her to make sure. And carried her to the vets in a banana box, she was dead. The walk of death...

But, this other cat could be a kitten of a kitten. And have all her grannies niceness.

I hope i can meet her. Not to re live what i had with Saturna, but just to see that her niceness and lovely temperament has been followed on in her lineage.

Saturna did growl occasionally. And the one from the photo does as well.

Re: Could it actually happen

Just a normal one deci glass. Not like in pubs in the UK where they ask you if you want a small, medium or large. And when you get a large you have 3 decies sitting in front of you!!! That's half a bottle.

It's just a weird thing to perhaps see her offspring. And also to have a connection and know that her goodness carries on.

Silly perhaps. But i shall live with it.

And there was another thing - does she head butt you to get attention etc. Yes, he said...

I have to find the piccies of Saturna to show to him.

Sunday - going through boxes of pics. Probably better than getting bitten by the lake monsters...

Cats can time travel, so perhaps it's the same cat. Blame Schrödinger.

I'll refrain from making the obvious "let me show you a picture of a pussy" joke.

Yup, absolutely I will.

For sure.
