Hi EFers with pets,

Does any of you have experience with scheduling a zooplus.ch delivery on a Saturday? Is this possible? If not, is scheduling evening delivery possible?
The items I want delivered aren't ones that cost an amount which I would want placed outside of the front door, waiting to be stolen. As I have had an "Abstellgenehmigung" screwed up already (package - not sent by zooplus - left outside of the building upon second delivery rather than inside, behind the door, as instructed by me on the form they left after taking the package with them when the first delivery wasn't possible), I don't want to risk this happening again.

If you have done either of these things, who have you contacted? DPD or zooplus? Do you remember how long it took them to respond?

Sometimes they don't deliver at all...depending on whether the driver has decided they would rather return to the depot.

I have had two failed deliveries with zooplus.ch, both with instructions to leave just inside barn door. On both occasions they did not leave an attempted delivery slip which indicates to me they didn't bother (and DHL more-or-less agreed it was fault of driver).

On first occasion I had a two-hour drive to Thurgau in darkness and blowing snow as it was an item I needed to travel next day, on the second (tempting fate) they scheduled a redelivery which arrived 3 days after the first scheduled delivery.

These complaints are not a reflection of zooplus but rather the delivery agent - so you might receive the service you are expecting, or you might not...

yeah seems complicated, because it's zooplus then the courier company and then the courier, you could have them deliver at your job maybe it's easier?

I have just ordered from zooplus. Use the .com website as you are able to choose delivery into Switzerland.
I ordered on Friday last week and it arrived today by DHL.

Regarding DPD, I think they will not leave your package at the door without your permission. If the first delivery fails, they will leave a tracking number that you can use to reschedule, give permission to leave the package at the door, change address, or collect at their branches. The branches are open on saturday, but Im not sure if delivery works on saturday

I can't receive stuff during the week, hence the Saturday delivery question. Zooplus.ch delivers to Switzerland as well, they use DPD, while zooplus.com delivers to Switzerland using DHL.

I called zooplus. They don't deliver on Saturday and you can't select a specific day according to them. But according to the dpd website (German version, I've linked to the English one) you can schedule delivery days (I'm guessing only Mon-Fri) and ask to place the parcels in the stairwell.

So it's basically "hope and wait and see if they deliver to the place they're supposed to", I guess...?
