Can anyone recommend a good vet around Aarau/Olten

Heya all,
hope I can get some recommendations here from someone who has had some good experience with a vet around Aarau/Olten.
English speaking only please (italian would be fine as well), my German is very poor (or almost none to be honest).

We just got a beautiful little kitten and I want to take her for her first visit, browsed the vet thread and used the search tool but got no result... sorry if I wasn't meant to open a new thread for this.

Hope someone can help me out

I can recommend dr. Schellenberg, Klinik Aarau West. He is a great vet and speaks excellent English.

We have been there. We have dogs and it is an excellent clinic. I know others who have taken their dogs there as well and had very positive feedback.

Yes, we followed him when he left the Tierspital for Aarau west. We are driving all the way from ZH - if this isn't a reference...

But we have a dog.

Still haven't figured out the whole thanks button thing in here so I'm posting to thank @ulaula and @Mrs. Doolittle, been taking my babe there twice already for her usual check up, vaccinations and the whole "starter kit" and I gotta say I'm positively impressed with the place and the doctors so far! Thanks a lot, who knows where I would have ended up without you!

Re: Can anyone recommend a good vet around Aarau/Olten

I took my cat to Dr. Schellenberg at Tierklinik Aarau West because of a rather serious and life threatening illness and I must say he made me feel like a fool when I asked some detailed, treatment related questions.

He asked me in a rather arrogant way whether I had got the information from an internet forum (I did, so what?). I'm sure internet forums are a big joke to vets and an excellent entertainment topic during their coffee breaks but that is what people do who care about their pets (or fellow humans for that matter) and it has saved lives in the past, since we all know that vets and doctors do make mistakes sometimes and especially in bigger clinics things may get overlooked since information is not always passed on correctly.

He was the third vet I went to see with my cat and each vet said something else (from "there's nothing to be done, just let it die" to "yes there are still a few options and recovery is still possible"). Had I not asked for advice in an internet forum I wouldn't have known what questions to ask and my cat would have been euthanised by now (and it's still alive and doing better at the moment).

I also felt Dr. Schellenberg lacked empathy towards the cat (she was a lot more anxious around him than she was towards other vets). His social skills were also lacking, he asked robot-like questions, typed them up in a computer, spoke very quickly and made it clear he didn't want to explain anything to me since I obviously have no clue.

Sorry for the rant but he may be a good vet technically (I dont know that) but definitely lacks social competences which are equally important if you are earning your living with pet owners. So no, I would not recommend him.
