My cat adoption story

A couple of years ago, I adopted a tiny (2.1kg of fierce furriness), black and white short-hair cat from a forum member who had developed some sort of allergy. I immediately fell in love with the feline as soon as I laid my eyes on her. She was already of advanced age and quickly made herself at home. Fast forward a couple of years, she's 20 now and I just returned from the vet, as she was feeling a bit under the weather. She received some sort of booster shot and seems to be doing well. The vet told me, that she's currently the oldest cat he's treating at the clinic and that she's in excellent health otherwise. There's just some issues with her teeth..age and all but he gave me some cream, which I'm certain she's not going to like.
Either way, I just wanted to share the story of how an adopted animal can give back so much joy and I urge you to consider adopting rather that buying a "brand new" animal, as they have a lot to give back IMO.

Its always the love from the owners that animals receive that keeps them healthy!

Re: My cat adoption story

Alright folks, here she is, the grand lady, the diva. She may look harmless but don't be fooled, she'll hurl a cell-phone at anybody in a heartbeat if only she had thumbs.

That by the way is her very own, recliner, the pillows and the towels are in place just for her...because well, he majesty requested it and she likes it better that way.
The dark picture was taken the other night, when she came to say goodnight and wanted to let me know, that she required some more attention.

Yes, I did record it with a potato..I have better pictures on my Ipad but it's currently under maintenance. I even have a video of Ms. Prissy eating food with her paw, because well, she's well civilized. I'll try to upload it once I get my Ipad back.

Re: My cat adoption story

And very comfortable she looks too! Proper Grand Dame. Our 11yr old boy (10 when we adopted him) rejected every bed we bought for him until I was cleaning the kitchen floor and put his igloo on the dining table for a moment... and he moved in. So now, he plays sentry duty there because he's facing the window and can guard all the back garden from his new vantage point. Fussy buggers cats.

What do you figure the chances are that LiB has a piece of ribbon sewed to the back of his housecoat, and spends 45 minutes every evening, running up and down the hall, to give the cat some fun?

Re: My cat adoption story

Fab Pussy story

Our Pudding beats her age, weighing at 23+ Still going strong but sleeping a lot and getting a bit thin (compared to when we adopted her aged about 3- hence her name).

Just got back from 3 weeks in UK and she was mightily pleased to see us- she can still purr for England! Not so keen on Minou, our recently adopted 3 legged Burmese (about 1 year old) deciding to join in the reunion cuddle. Like Big M- cats and dogs always adopt us, not t'other way round.
