Lmao - I will be frank, it was a shock. I've shared it on here because I would have thought it's 'normal' for breeders here.

I've given up looking for logic in prices, seemingly they make it up on the spot anyway....I'm sure there's some complex algorithm behind it all
IMHO (having had cats - including rescue ones) - go get 1 (or 2) from a shelter - and give them a life they would never had had.

It will feel good for the soul, they love you just as much, they'll bring just as many half dead presents and you'll save yourself enough money to pay for at least 3 days in a cattery!

I agree. Maybe this was for the best? Adopting a couple of older cats will be so much more rewarding, both for you and the cats.

Kittens need a lot of stimulation and interaction. There is something attractive about buying an older cat, one who already has its personality sorted out and just wants to chill in a comfy home.

Ah unfortunately we will be away for the next 2 weeks - I found the Breeder through this site (http://www.britisch-kurzhaar.org/bks...d=21&Itemid=34).

However it was by chance, because the actual advertisement was on Tier-Inserate.ch and we simply noticed the postcode was the same, hence we gave her a call and then paid her a visit.

I agree wholeheartedly - it all feels like a bit of a breeding-mafia which is why I'm extremely courteous for the frank advice I've been given re. not rocking the boat too much. I am going to check out the shelters for sure.

Thx again!
Ahh what a shame i think you would enjoy the show.

I am sure wherever you get your kitty from they will be lucky to have you!

Best wishes

Darcy

I'm for older cats. They are like wine, they get better as they get older, so much more affectionate.

I thought that my new kitten wasn't as loving and intelligent as the old cat that I had lost but now that he is getting older he is just as marvellous.

+ when we were young and working full time, it wasn't fair on the cat who ripped our wall paper to bits, didn't like being alone with people which weren't experimented cat keepers (after 15+ at least years with a cat you get a that badge)
