Re: The weird/funny/amazing thing my pet did today...

At some point over the last 24 hours Talitha chewed through the wire antenna on my radio alarm.

I was woken up by static this morning.

Also, inspired by Traubert's post, I have taught her to play fetch with her mousie.

But of course her favourite toy is the ball of wool I am crocheting with!

oh nooo! hopefully it is easy to replace/fix your radio

I crochet as well, so I had to teach my dog that *this* ball is not allowed to be played with. He listens...but only when I'm around lol

Re: The weird/funny/amazing thing my pet did today...

I'm happy to report that I managed to strip the ends of the radio antenna and wrap the wires around each other. A bit of sellotape and it's as good as new.

This morning Talitha decided to get in the bath as it was filling up with water. She then spent several minutes dancing from paw to paw as the water slowly crept towards her... before realising that it was not going to stop and she'd better get out of the bath if she didn't want to get wet.

I meanwhile stood there and laughed. Yes, I could have turned the taps off but she has to learn...

Speaking of playing with balls...

Heffalump The Brainless, who believes that any spherical object must be a ball put on earth solely for his delight, has invented an autumnal twist to the game of fetch:

I throw a ball, he brings back a tomato.
I throw a ball, he brings back a tomato.
I throw a ball, he brings back a tomato.

OK, it was cute the first few times. Then as he proceeded to strip my vines and I had to figure out new ways to collie-proof our Tomatenhüsli, not so much.

But the last straw...

A quick glance into the guest room yesterday registered something amiss: Why does the bed look lumpy?

You guessed it, Heffalump has been not only stealing (thankfully green) tomatoes but also stashing them in his secret cache, the guest bed.

For sale: One collie, brains not included.

(Just kidding, what he lacks in the brains department he more than makes up for with the biggest heart in all canine-dom. Wouldn't trade him for the world.)

Dogs. Gotta luv 'em.

I saw a post somewhere else that their dog did this too but with apples. Unfortunately, for the owner, it wasn't until she noticed a smell when she found out her dog had been collecting apples for some time

I have an employment adviser who comes by periodically to see how I am doing. She loves cats. She was telling me (and showing me videos) about her cat who likes to play fetch with lollies (the hardboiled kind on a little stick). Unfortunately, they have had to stop this game as the cat was hiding the lollies under the sofa and they were infested with ants!

Our little one was so excited about visiting the vets today, she was jumping at the door to go in! . X-rays, blood test and vaccinations and she was still wagging her tail.
It’s because she knows they have really nice treats.

Arrow reacts the same way. I also used to take him to the vet every other day back in shanghai. We had the luxury of the vet being across the street from our apartment. And I would buy treats from there and asked the people there to give him treats so that he wouldn't ever be a hassle to bring through the door

In the village I live in, there is this fake cow that a store puts out everyday. Every time we walk by it, Arrow decides to give it a boop on the nose. I think it's pretty cute. since given they are similar in colours, He's not sure if it's a weird looking dog, or he's a weird looking cow
