play dates for dogs near Zurich

Hello, I'm in CH for around 2 weeks now with my dog and she's really playable and energetic, so we'd be happy to get to know more dog owners east side of Zurich, like Uster, Pfaffikon and such
I see many people with dogs here, but they don't let them off the leash (or simply i don't know places when they do that) and what's worse - i'm still learning german, so it's hard to ask people to let our dogs play. I always see people walking dog, never playing with them, that's weird.

Here's a bit of 'German homework', info from the Uster city website on dog ownership:
https://www.uster.ch/zuzugumzugwegzug/3679

And in English, the ZH cantonal code of conduct will give you some insights to regulations, etiquette, responsibilities, and expectations of dog owners and non-dog owners. Might help explain some of the things that might seem 'weird' to you now.
https://veta.zh.ch/internet/gesundhe...12englisch.pdf

You haven't mentioned your dog's size or breed, so just be aware of cantonaly mandated classes if your dog stands taller than 45cm or weighs more than 15kg.

And even if your dog is smaller than List 1, a very good way to meet other dog owners, learn the local regs, learn local etiquette, make friends canine and human, find places where off lead play is safe - and indeed, learn German - is to take the cantonal classes.

All the best as you and your dog as you both settle in.

Welcome to the forum and to Switzerland.

Switzerland is fairly strict on what dogs can and can't do wherever so as Meloncollie says do take the cantonal classes to learn what the Swiss expect from dog owners. It'll help you learn the rules and both you and your dog make new friends.
