Dog Behaviour Conference Online

I am a big fan of Victoria Stilwell and a firm believe in positive dog training. I had planned to go to her Dog Behaviour Conference in UK next month but that has now moved to an online event. Link below in case anyone is interested especially as many here will have lost access to their trainers at this time

FYI - I am not affiliated with her or this event in any way

Thank you so much for this information!

I also follow Victoria Stilwell and I love her training methods and have been using them as well. I just went online and was able to register and very much looking forward to this weekend!

Hello Summergirl. How did you find the weekend? I had planned to be at the live event in Coventry and it was impossible to have an undisturbed 8 hours each day at home - dog in particular became bored and wanted attention. However, I am really looking forward to watching all the recordings and there was some absolutely fantastic information from just amazing presenters. In particular, Sarah Fisher's presentation was an eye opener

Re: Dog Behaviour Conference Online

Hi Mr Dog,

I know what you mean, 8 hours two days in a row (with perfect weather) was not easy and I did take my dog out for 2 hours in between. It was my first virtual conference and I really liked the positive vibes and it got me to appreciate my dog even more than before. On Day 1 Victoria speaks of the importance of the Touch cue, which I tried on my dog and he learned it really quickly Whether it will really help to recall when outside in a park with distraction remains to be seen....

Aside of Victoria's session, I liked Sarah Fischer's session the most as well. At the end of the conference Victoria asked all speakers for advice in one sentence and Sarah said "say less, observe (or watch, I forgot her exact words)more" and it is so true. I also liked Clive's session. The least for me was probably the workshop of Nicole Smith - not saying it wasn't useful, but the least for me personally.

Through this, I also joined their dog conference FB page and I just like how friendly, positive and supportive everyone is on that page.

Thanks for having posted the info on this conference, I would never have known! I think we will receive the recordings today by email.

My boss thought it was funny I was attending a dog behavior conference and now calls me the "dog shrink"

Re: Dog Behaviour Conference Online

Thanks for the summary Mr Dog and Summergirl!

I wasn't able to attend the online seminar because... well... 'Robin Goodfellow' and 'calm' are two words rarely found in the same sentence. Oh the irony.

Glad to hear the conference was well received. It looked like a very interesting panel.

I, too, am a huge Sarah Fisher fan, have all of her books and eagerly look for new YT content from her. I was sorry to miss her workshop - but hopefully there will be others.

(Sarah Fisher has done so much for the rescue community in the UK, she is an inspiration.)

Well absolutely everything was recorded and we are able to access them on the Positively website. The conference cost was only $120 so it might be possible to pay now to get recording access. You won't have missed anything by not watching live

Sarah Fisher also does the Tellington TTouch and I would adore to do a course on it after lockdown!

When I read the title of this thread, I thought you were referring to this wonderful post from Andrew Cotter having a conference call with his two Labs, Olive and Mabel.

Yes, it is brilliant and he has done a couple of others as well with Olive and Mabel. Here's one of them
