My dog

We had this wonderful dog (Tyson) a Cane Corso, he got to be 12years old.
I thought he would die of old age, but no he got seizures.
We have such a wonderful vet who suggested but did not pressure us to get a CT scan.
You know, we did not, why?
If they would have found a tumor I would not have operated
12 is an amazing age for this breed, he had such a nice life with us, we were so blessed.
We did medicate him, the side effects were bothersome for Tyson and us.
Eventually it was time and we had to say goodbye.
I`m writing this to say that if you have a sick pet that may be suffering maybe its time to say goodbye, and that is ok. You are a wonderful pet owner and your beloved pet knows this.

Re: My dog

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to loose our beloved pets. We have a dog, she’s a mix, and she recently turned 16. She’s still happy, but slowing down and we dread the day when she’ll be gone. But, sometimes you have to let them go.

I’m sure you made the best choice. It just leaves an awful hole.

Re: My dog

Oh, sorry that you're having to grieve. You and Tyson went a good part of the journey together. The loss must be immense.

Re: My dog

Pics, please?!?

I've been in your place, and it is never easy to help our furkids cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. I am sure he thanks you!

If It Should Be
-----------------
Author Unknown.

If it should be that I grow weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand;
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years -
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come, so let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And please stay with me until the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve - it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years -
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.
