Tom | | | | | Some of us have bum lungs where a "minor" (not minor mate) virus could kill them...
I guess some people have bum immune systems where a tiny nip could kill them... I am learning alright?

| | Re: My dog just bit somebody, again. | Quote: | | | | | If people choose to ignore the recommended social distancing then there may be a price to pay; a fatal COVID infection or whatever. I am not blaming anybody, we all take risks and sometimes pay the price.
After a year of social distancing then some stranger chooses to invade my dog's personal space with unfortunate results.
Sometimes I am tempted to give people who push past me a smack around the head, maybe I should try it? | | | | |
Regardless of any social distancing do's and don'ts marton, the fault here is yours as you have a dog that occasionally bites people who are simply going about their business in public areas. The man that was bitten went to the doctor to check that he had no infection, as is sensible and which he has every right to do. You now muzzle your dog as is appropriate to avoid this happening in public again and everyone gets on with their lives. The end. | The following 12 users would like to thank Chuff for this useful post: | Axa, Belgianmum, bossybaby, DantesDame, fatmanfilms, olygirl, porsch1909, RufusB, st2lemans, summergirl, Susie-Q |

I like you, Marton. I dislike your dog and feel your judgement was poor in assessing the dog's ability to be around strangers.

It's like being in one big moderately happy dysfunctional family.

| | Re: My dog just bit somebody, again. | Quote: | | | | | Take it easy, no need to get personal man ... I am not ridiculing anyone & am only responding in this particular case where there didn't seem to be an injury.
I actually have a good mate who almost lost his arm to an infection when he was scratched by a feral cat after separating him from attacking his own cat. Those cases, definitely go to the doctor ... a little chihuahua nip without injury seems to be an overreaction, that's all. | | | | | Sorry, let's move to the thread about which music we're currently listening https://www.englishforum.ch/general-...listening.html

I know, that it is never a welcomed suggestion after an accident and especially not for older pets, but every family member has to be educated and trained to behave in socium. Some nicest dogs may have their triggers, which can be dealt with with love, patience and discipline. | Quote: | | | | | ...But seriously, did such a small dog cause so much damage?... | | | | | Don't underestimate those little beasts. My sister was once bitten by a fox terrier (~5.5kg of dog). There were huge bloody bruises for weeks and 2 cracked palm bones.
And some cats are no better - I have a couple scars (almost gone after 10 years) and the permanent loss of sensitivity on the back from an overprotective sphynx.

Their weight has little bearing upon things (rodents, hedgehogs, sisters) they have decided deserve biting…
BTW: A moose once bit my sister – visit Sweden (see the loveli lakes) and experience its wonderful telephone system

Still loved her, but damn that hurt. Oh yea - parrot bites aren't fun either.

Bitten by a monkey on another occasion - people tell me it still shows...

There are many EF members that helped build this place, at least over the past decade. And you can rest assured, that the Swiss EF World does not revolve around what is actually posted on EF
