There were several members that actively helped build the network around this site over the past decade. You may have misread my message? I don’t want to bring confusion into this ‘discussion’, but there were a few years when active information exchange, that made ex-pats feel better informed possible. Some of us may be feeling tired of giving this advice, it’s pretty unrewarding. Some have passed in-between.
But there’s a new generation - and so I wish you all the best out there! Making a new life in Switzerland was so much more complicated 20+ years ago! Enjoy.

If she is not answering, it is because she has valid reasons to follow that strategy. | | | | | If I understood Marton’s post much earlier in the thread correctly he has been in touch with Meloncollie in private and has received good advice from her.

| | Re: My dog just bit somebody, again. | Quote: | | | | | Yup, you know better , I’m sure - have you ever considered that you might not . There are many EF members that helped build this place, at least over the past decade. And you can rest assured, that the Swiss EF World does not revolve around what is actually posted on EF | | | | | Yeah, sure – even if I don’t really understand your point…
Couldn’t we just stop this (decades old) infighting and concentrate upon the vital question of how many of you people have also been bitten by monkeys? Did I mention I’d been bitten by a monkey already? Did you survive? Really?
There might even be yet untold stories of deep sea squid encounters (suction marks – missing limbs, other appendages) which could easily put my monkey tales in the shade – of a dog house…
Seriously, I often wonder why quite a few threads on EF suddenly disintegrate into animosity. But then, I’m just a squid and didn’t even get the lousy T-shirt

Still slightly insecure with etiquette on EF, I’m a bit open whether to take this as a badge of honour or hang my head in shame – anyway, I really like the drift of your arguments BTW: Thanks for helping my learning curve – looks like I can’t quote people who’ve blocked me – stay safe | The following 3 users would like to thank LtSoftDrink for this useful post: | |

I’ve no idea how to block someone and never would. If I did know and blocked all the people on here who are full of it, I’d miss 90% of the drama.

| | Re: My dog just bit somebody, again. | Quote: | | | | | Ouch - worst bite I ever had was from a temperamental Clysedale horse I was tending to. Still loved her, but damn that hurt. Oh yea - parrot bites aren't fun either. | | | | | Parrots can cause a very nasty injury with their beak. If an owner gets bitten, experts say it is usually the owner's fault. Something caused the parrot to bite and the owner missed the signs.
Parrot owners often must tell visitors not to get too close to their parrots. Quite often strangers are about to walk right up to the cage and I have to warn them not get too close.
So having this experience with parrots, and as a dog owner, I think one must anticipate a situation where things could go wrong, like a dog being startled and the reaction to do more than bark, but to snap and bite.
I do feel for the person who was bitten. I also feel for the dog owner because no one wants their dog to hurt anyone. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Indeed- I did ask if they wouldn't mind sharing, as it could be useful to others, but of course it is entirely their choice.

It‘s a bit like Pata Negra tasting better because the pigs are only fed on acorns. I do find that the vegan meat tastes better if it‘s free range though. Keeping them caged does not lead to happy vegans and a well trained palate notices it in the meat.
