| | My dog just bit somebody, again.
The last time was almost two years ago, in quite a similar incident.
He is only a little one, around 5Kg.
I was waiting outside Migros for my wife with my dog on a short lead. A young man ran past me from behind and passed very close, our dog was shocked, barked, and snapped.
The man said he had been bitten but when I asked to see the bite he pulled up his trouser leg and there was nothing to see. Then he ran on onto Migros.
Today I got a call from the police saying I had been "Anzeige" and there were doctor's bills to pay. Presumably, he got my details from somebody local.
Now waiting to hear the next steps.

Oh dear.... this doesn't seem fair and how in the world did he get your info?
Meloncollie will hopefully come in soon to give an expert answer.
Good luck!

Spoke to the guy and agreed to pay the doctor's bill and new trousers so long as he drops the police thing, so everything now looks better.
I will be passing the hat around soon to cover my expenses.
He said when he came out of Migros he asked around and a lady gave him our details, sadly he did not give a good description of her so I don't know where she lives | The following 3 users would like to thank marton for this useful post: | |

@Marton - I don't know what to say. I've no idea what you can do to prevent this happening again, short of muzzling in public.

So sorry to read this Marton! I have a very friendly 10 1/2 year old yellow lab but the older she gets, I notice she is not the best with certain dogs (but she loves people!).
We had an issue a year ago with a Rhodesian Ridgeback in our neighborhood who was off lead and bit our dog. My landlord, who is Swiss and lives above us, told me to report the dog as this same dog has terrorized other dogs in the neighborhood (including hers!)
Anyway, despite my report, nothing came of it as the owner denied the confrontation.
What a hassle for you though! I imagine you would love to know the woman who gave this man your info/address. How old is your dog? Do you think it might be attributable to your dog's age and temperament? I only ask as I have noticed my dog is not as patient and friendly with other dogs the older she gets...

Even small dogs have sharp little teeth.

As Marton was seen with a lap dog in public, I would say that he is the real victim of the situation.
