| It's happened again.
The lady's lawyer proposed instead to vaccinate the puppy and put it in quarantine, but the GE Veterinäramt would not allow that - and the court has agreed.
So unless there is a miracle poor Fredy puppy will be killed on Saturday.

I'm starting to think that even bringing back mandatory owner training is not enough. The root of the problem seems to be that some people simply do not believe that laws apply to them. I honestly don't know how that can be fixed.
Poor, poor puppy.

I read that last yesterday evening and it kept me awake half the night; it truly doesn't bear thinking about.
I get why the VetAmt needs to rule out the slightest possible risk, and I get why they feel the need to make an example.... but I just can't get my head round how any vet could actually do the deed, much like the kill shelters in the US. Surely to doG they should seek out any other way than this?
And as for the importer.... she was given the opportunity to effectively take the pup back to where he came from (...and maybe get him jabbed up and imported legally?). Whisky Tango Foxtrot did she not take the option? Did she simply not believe they'd do it? She should have the book thrown at her for animal cruelty.
I'm so so cross about this
ETA: why could nobody else have taken the pup back???
